Career Day, allegedly.
To help Dewey investigate his father, Seraphina enters the dental office under the cover of conducting a student career-day interview.
FILE 02
The original plan breaks.
A walk-in dental emergency disrupts the operation, so Seraphina improvises a new strategy and later divides the office with Colin to gather information separately.
FILE 03
Peewee is not peewee.
Seraphina receives a very large, friendly apricot-colored mastiff named Peewee from a shelter. Dewey initially thinks the dog is lost and proposes found-dog signs.
FRIENDSHIP AS FIELDWORK
Embarrassment is apparently part of the job.
Seraphina and Colin repeatedly accept inconvenience and personal discomfort to help Dewey investigate his own family problem. The Book 1 case works because Dewey has people willing to go into the field with him.

The television treatment describes Seraphina as a fifth grader with long brown curly hair, a strong instinct for rules, and occasional hidden-gum exceptions. Those remain development notes.
