THE BIGGER ARCHIVE
Clara saved everything.
Receipts. Reviews. Bookstore sightings. School visits. Launch-day evidence. Wolfie photographs. Notes Dewey swears he never wrote.
She also kept the things that wandered in from other drawers: Lorri Horn's classroom material for Parent Problem Solver, along with the old television-development file full of character notes, episode ideas, and plans for putting Dewey's world on a screen.
Also several things nobody remembers giving her.
CLARA: This is normal.
DEWEY: It is not.
NEXT DRAWER
The files keep multiplying.
Parents. Teachers. Siblings. Clients. Places. Plans. Odd remarks. Questionable behavior. Important clues. Completely unimportant clues that somehow became important later.
Dewey likes a system. Clara has a system. These are not necessarily the same system.
