When Dewey plans a school experiment comparing how quickly several flammable liquids burn, Karen responds with the sort of questions a person asks when they enjoy having a house, a driveway, and a child with eyebrows.
DEWEY'S PROBLEM
Dewey is used to studying other families from a safe investigative distance. Karen and Don make that impossible. The Alaska case forces him to listen to people he loves instead of treating them like entries on a client form.
